The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) convened a high-impact Roundtable on Evolving Global Trade in New Delhi, bringing together government leaders, global buyers, and industry stakeholders to align on the future of India’s apparel exports.

Chairman Dr. A. Sakthivel called on exporters to leverage FTAs covering nearly 60% of the world’s population and accelerate towards the ambitious USD 40 billion export target by 2030, urging the industry to step up on capacity, quality, and delivery.

DGFT Mr. Lav Agarwal highlighted FTAs as a game-changer and emphasized three priorities:

* Scaling capabilities

* Building a strong Brand India

* Strengthening partnerships across stakeholders

Joint Secretary Ms. Manisha Chatterjee reinforced the need for deeper industry collaboration, especially in MMF and sustainability, noting that global markets demand     higher standards in quality and compliance.

Industry leaders and global buyers echoed the need for:

* MMF capacity expansion

* Skill development and workforce agility

* Faster, resilient supply chains

* Stronger compliance and financing support

The collective message was clear: India has the opportunity, now the industry must deliver.

With unified efforts across government, exporters, and buyers, India is poised to strengthen its position as a trusted global sourcing hub.
